Design of systems to protect buildings and structures from UAVs

Comprehensive solutions for facility security and protection.
"Our PES (protective enclosing structures) are already protecting facilities in the area of military operations and surrounding territories. For example, at field fuel depots, they have reduced the number of successful drone attacks by 90%."
Defensive solutions against kamikaze drones based on the “Darwin” net

SZ “Prospekt” specializes in the design of PES (protective enclosing structures) using the certified “Darwin” safety netting manufactured by SMZ.

Ready-made solutions for:

  • Storage tanks VST (Vertical Steel Tank) with a capacity of up to 100,000 m³
  • Helicopter and aircraft shelters
  • Transformer substations (systems with an electrical neutral system)
Who should consider these security systems?
  • Oil and gas companies
    Protecting VSTs (Vertical Steel Tanks), oil depots, and pipelines from kamikaze drones is a critical task. Our easy-to-erect structures prevent fires and oil spills, safeguarding infrastructure and the environment.
  • Airports and Airfields
    Minimizing interference with radio communications and ensuring runway safety are key requirements. The “Darwin” net does not interfere with equipment operation and reliably protects hangars, aircraft shelters, and fuel storage facilities from UAVs.
  • Energy companies
    Transformer substations and power transmission lines (ETL) require protection against the risk of short circuits. Our dielectric structures prevent such situations from occurring.
Key benefits of the “Darwin” net
  • Highly effective protection
    A special “spiderweb”-type polyamide weave gently absorbs the drone's kinetic energy without causing the warhead to explode
  • A 5-fold reduction in costs
    The lightweight design reduces installation costs compared to using metal mesh
  • Full localization
    All production components are monitored in one place
  • Durability
    5-year warranty (UV resistance, radio wave transparency)
Projects
Security systems for buildings, structures, and critical infrastructure facilities that protect them from airborne threats.
We design physical defenses for structures against kamikaze drones, FPV drones, and other UAVs in accordance with SP 542. Our solutions include physical barriers, kinetic screens, and adaptive structures that stop or redirect the threat without damaging electronic equipment.

Given the wide variety of drones (ranging from commercial quadcopters to specialized strike systems), we are developing:

  • Net and mesh systems—for intercepting drones in combat zones;
  • Dynamic shields are deployable structures designed to absorb impacts;
  • Architectural changes — the incorporation of safety features into building designs;
  • We analyze the structure’s susceptibility to shock waves and propose measures to prevent fragment damage to the structure.

SZ PROSPECT specializes in protecting critical infrastructure facilities, including command centers, fuel storage facilities, and industrial zones. Our solutions are tested under conditions that closely mimic real-world scenarios and combine:

  • Strength — the use of composite materials and special-alloy steels.
  • Flexibility — integration into existing infrastructure without disrupting facility operations.
According to experts, the current military conflicts and tensions are far from over.

In urban environments, it is not always possible to deploy electronic warfare or air defense systems. In such situations, mesh barriers become the last line of defense. They are always readily available and effective against all types of drones.

But it is important to understand: not all nets are the same. Not every type is truly capable of providing protection.

Our main objectives:
1 — Intercepting UAVs
2 — Minimizing the risk of a warhead explosion

That is why we have specific requirements for our nets:
— High energy absorption capacity: flexibility, strength, and lightness. To capture UAVs without triggering a warhead explosion;
— Large mesh size to prevent the contact fuse from detonating upon impact;
— Radio wave permeability to prevent radio guidance;
— Dielectric properties to prevent short circuits when protecting energy infrastructure—such as transformer substations;
— Manufactured from Russian raw materials and in Russia to avoid dependence on external factors;
— And most importantly—an affordable price so that any government agency can purchase the net.
Strangely enough, we found a good solution—the "Darwin" nets.

The results speak for themselves: in 90% of cases, UAVs caught in these nets do not explode. This is exactly what is needed to protect our cities and infrastructure facilities.

Our security solutions are being implemented in virtually every region of Russia:

The Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod, and Moscow regions, Ust-Luga, Saint Petersburg, and the Kaluga region are areas with high UAV activity that require multi-layered protection for critical infrastructure facilities.

The Voronezh and Rostov regions, the Republic of Crimea, and the New Territories are logistics hubs and industrial centers where the reliable operation of state-of-the-art logistics systems is of critical importance.

Astrakhan and Saratov region, Irkutsk region, Yekaterinburg, Anapa, Makhachkala, Kaliningrad, Saratov region, Republic of Bashkortostan, Chelyabinsk, Vladivostok, Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic, Chita, Zabaykalsky Krai, Khabarovsk Krai, Amur region, Novy Urengoy, Tobolsk, Republic of Tatarstan, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Norilsk, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg region, Yuzhnouralsk, Krasnodar Krai, Kirov, Vostochny Cosmodrome, Nadym, Obninsk, Stary Oskol, Skolkovo, Sayansk, Saransk, Sakhalin, Kemerovo, Perm Krai, Severodvinsk, Tolyatti, Tomsk region, Novosibirsk region— protection of strategic facilities.

Why these regions?

  • Border areas—the first lines of defense
  • Transportation arteries—protection of bridges, oil pipelines, and railway hubs
  • Industrial clusters—factories, oil storage facilities, and energy infrastructure
Targets beyond the Urals and in the Far East are increasingly coming under attack from unmanned aerial vehicles at ranges of 2 to 15 kilometers.
Here are a few reasons why you should choose us:
  • Highly qualified
    The effectiveness of our design solutions has been proven in practice.
    The unit cost of constructing PES (protective enclosing structures) based on our designs ranges from $ 55 to $ 250 per square meter of mesh.
  • Attention to detail
    Most projects are custom-designed.
    However, we have standard designs for the entire range of VSTs (Vertical Steel Tanks), from 1,000 to 100,000 m³, as well as for small-scale facilities (gas regulating stations (GDS), control points, transformer substations, etc.).
  • Clarity
    Our work is conducted in strict compliance with Russian regulatory documents: SP 542, as well as recommendations from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Defense, and other regulatory bodies.
    We undergo inspections at all levels.
  • Inspection of design solutions
    To date, the projects have been reviewed by JSC "Russian Railways", State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom", PJSC "ROSSETI", the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the State Expert Commission of the Moscow Region, and the General State Expert Review Department (Glavgosexpertiza of Russia).
